If the ECP you are seeking to import and/or supply in Australia already has a certificate of conformity issued in accordance with one of the foreign emissions standards listed in the table in section 26 of the Rules, then your product does not need additional Australian certification and you do not need to apply for Australian certification.
If the ECP you are planning to import and/or supply is not certified by a recognised foreign authority then you will need to apply for the engine to be certified – either to the Australian emissions standard in accordance with section 18 of the Product Emissions Standards Rules 2017 (the Rules) or to one of the foreign emissions standards listed in the table to section 26 of the Rules.
